An rain-predictable,dull evening invoked an appetite of an hot and sweet snack.So thought of preparing Murruku and halwa.
And yes both came out to be exclusively very good.Ingredients
for murukku:
250 grams of rice soaked for 4 hours.
50 grams of uraddal.
10 grams of white sesame
5 gms Fenugreek
Salt to taste.
Process:
1. Going soaked rice to fine powder,fry in an medium flame until you feel crispiness in the flour.
2. Grind urad dal, til/ sesame, Red chilli, fenugreek.
3. Mix all the ingredients with 2 tablespoons of oil and water and form dough.
4.Press the dough in Murruku maker on an cloth/ plastic paper. Drop slowly in hot oil.Reduce the flame…until all the books slowdown turn it on.And remove it from oil.
5. Murruku/ chakili is ready to be served.
Next comes the sweet halwa.
As carrots were available very cheap and abundant. Thought of preparing this sweet …and believe it or not it ended up in fight among kids who would have last spoon.😊
Here goes the recipe.
Ingredients for halwa:
Carrots: 250 grams
milk:250 ml
sugar:150 grams
cardamom : 5 grams
Drynuts:25 grams
1. Grate the carrots, fry in a teaspoon of ghee.
2.Roast all the dry nuts in ghee ,keep it aside.
3. Boil milk,add grated sugar, keep on stirring.
4. When you see milk thickening, add sugar which let’s out water.
5. Go on stirring, add dry nuts.
6.You could have either hot or chill.
