Among healthy breakfast preferred in the Indian context, Idli takes first place. With the same properties and preparation style, next comes Dosa.
I was just thinking to make an alternative to regular dosa with bottle gourd, which I guess some are aware of.
Soak and grind the batter for dosa as usual.
I would repeat the process.
Ingredients:
Raw rice: 1 cup
Urad dal/split black gram lentils: 1/4 cup
Fenugreek: 1 tablespoon.
Bottle gourd: 1 small size.
Pepper: 1 tablespoon
Salt
Preparation process:
1)Soak rice, lentils, and fenugreek for 4-5 hours.
2) Grind into a smooth batter with less quantity of water.
3) Allow fermenting for 6 hours.
4) Cut bottle gourd ,and grind to paste along with peppers.
5)Mix it with batter, add salt and allow it for 20-30 minutes.
6) Dosa batter is ready, you could pour and have hot dosas with onion chutney. ( I had mentioned it in one of my previous blogs).
