When you say Indian spices  the tanginess,spicy,aroma is what that comes  to your mind.Yea true, Inclusive of all these, each spice has their own property medicinally which had been found years back and have been used as  an adhoc remedy…… serving medicinal requirement.The main agenda of this article is to throw an beam of light on this.

An fruit, vegetable,root, bark, seed that is in the fresh or dried form primarily used for flavoring is a SPICE.

Cumin has jeera/jeeraga as itscommon name .

1)CUMIN

Cumin or Jeera is popular spice that is used in almost every recipe in Indian cuisine. It helps the body get the required energy and is an excellent digestive. It is this digestive property that makes cumin an effective agent for weight loss.

Cumin seeds are extremely helpful in keeping good gut health. It also helps to sleep better, reduces the risk of respiratory disorders, common cold, anemia, and skin disorders.Being an excellent source of iron, it aids in digestion, boosts the immune system and has anti-carcinogenic properties.

Cumin seeds are generally available in three colours- amber, white and black. The amber seeds are the most common. The black ones have a complex flavor and cannot be substituted for the other two.

e) Kashayam/kwaith can be used for treating stomach upsets,acidity,relief for menstrual cramps( would explain about this)

Cumin Weight Loss Recipe

Ingredients

  1. 2 teaspoons cumin seeds

  2. 1 cup water

  3. ½ teaspoon honey powder

How To Prepare

  1. Soak the cumin seeds in water overnight.

  2. Heat the water till it becomes warm.

  3. Strain the water and add honey.

  4. Stir well before drinking.

Cumin kashayam:

Ingredients

  1. 2 teaspoons cumin seeds

  2. 2 teaspoons coriander seeds

  3. 2 teaspoons sounf

  4. 1 cup water

  5. ½ teaspoon honey or sugar

How To Prepare

  1. Boil all the ingredients in water except honey if you are using.

  2. Heat the water till it becomes half of it’s quantity.

  3. Strain the water and add honey.

  4. Stir well before drinking.
