Soak Sabhu Dhana or sago overnight for an effective dish. Even though some say 4-6 hours of soaking is enough.
Ingredients
Soaked moong dal-1 cup
Soaked sabhudana/ sago – 1 cup
Seasoning:
Oil- 4 tbsp
Mustard seed-1 tbsp
Chana dal-2 tbsp
Turmeric powder-1/2 tbsp
Mirchi/chilli powder- 1 tbsp
Dhania/ coriander- 1 1/2 tbsp
Onion- 1
Tomatoes-2 medium-sized
Proceed:
1) Soak moong dal for 1 hour.
2) Start seasoning with all ingredients by heating oil, mustard seeds. After spluttering add onion, tomatoes. Let it turn mushy, add turmeric powder, salt.
3) Add chili, coriander powder, mix well. Add moong dal, Sabhu dhana. If required add garam masala.
4) Season it with coriander leaves and serve hot.
Now kids-healthy-yummy shabhudhana moong dal khichdi is ready.
*No need of separately boiling sabhudhana, just add .Allow the moist to dry.
